“It’s all about beauty. It’s all about very pretty, beautiful girls,” explained Redken creative director Guido Palau.
“There’s not much hair this season. As you know, we’re very heavy-handed sometimes with our hairdos and colors and things, but this time it’s very light, and Marc was talking about real beauties, real simplicity,” says Guido Palau. “The clothes are very done and grand and important, so we’ve left the girls feeling easier about that in the hair and makeup. It has a nonchalance and sophistication in its ease.” In lieu of styling, Palau misted the hair Redken Triple Dry 15 texturizing spray on the hair for a “soft, clean” finish. Most of the models wore feathered beanies by milliner Stephen Jones, who also created the scarves for the Spring 2018 collection. The models without a hat wore their hair parted and held in place with a single bobby pin. “It isn’t a look but when you look at it together, it is a look,” said Palau backstage.

Backstage at Marc Jacobs, Makeup artist Diane Kendal didn’t even use foundation on the models. Instead every model was patted down with a yet-to-be-released Marc Jacobs Beauty moisturizer called “Youthquake.” From there she added a bit of concealer and powder to even out any skin redness, and finished with a swipe of Marc Jacobs Beauty Glowstick highlighter. For cheeks she created a dusty brown rose mix of lipstick and lip gloss using Marc Jacobs Beauty Le Marc Liquid Lip Crayon in Send Nudes 200 and brushed In the Mood Sheer Gel Lipstick.

Dot nude lipstick on the apples of your cheeks and blend out with your fingers for a flawless, natural finish. Apply highlighter to the top of your cheekbones and brow bone. Blend in till almost translucent with your finger. Then finish the face by applying lip balm to your lips and taking a small amount on your finger and lightly dabbing it over highlighted areas for an extra dewy shine.
