Pat McGrath’s Crystal Studded Winged Eyes With Swarovski Crystals
At Prada’s Fall 2018 Women’s show, legendary makeup artist Pat McGrath created crystal studded winged eye makeup with her soon-to-be-released Pat McGrath Labs Mthrship Subversive: La Vie En Rose eyeshadow palette and real Swarovski crystals. “It’s sporty, but elegant in a showgirl kind of way,” McGrath stated of the look.
To create the dramatic 80s make-up look, McGrath used the palette Pat McGrath Labs Mthrship Subversive and defined the eyes and outer half of the lash line in Purple Reign and Rose Risqué. Begin by extending the shadows up and outward towards the temple to form a thick wing. With the same two eye shadow colors, line the entire lower lashline and extend the outer corner out into a second smaller winged extension just past the eye. Then, highlight the inner corners of the eyes with Rose Risqué and apply a light coating of mascara only on the the upper lashes. Finish the look off the look by gluing various size Swarovski crystals above the corners of the purple winged eye. To complete the look, hairstylist Guido Palau went with a grungy slicked back look using Redken’s “Full Frame 07 Volumizing Mousse. ” It’s should look as if you got out of the shower and ran your hand through it,” said Palau.
McGrath will release her new Mthrship Make-Up Kits after fashion week. “I want my fellow beauty junkies to be able to shop the show while recreating the looks…in real time, direct from the runways, with the actual products and the real techniques that I will be sharing on social media.” The best part? It’s only going to cost $55, which is more than half the price of her previous sell out palettes.
