Reconstruct, the Amsterdam-based fashion collective landed in New York just in time for the Spring 2019 men’s fashion shows. The label is the brainchild of five women who bring together their unique talents to create a singular vision. The collective traveled all the way from Amsterdam to New York City, and create their entire Spring 2019 collection for New York Fashion Week in the space of three weeks.
Go Behind the Scenes at Reconstruct
This season they are taking everyone on a journey to another planet. The imagined story surrounding planet RE-4 is a metaphor for how the Reconstruct Collective is positioning itself in the fashion world. The collection entitled “Retrograde Orbit” tells the story of a newborn planet inhabited by hybrid creatures. “In an era where utopic and dystopic sci-fi movies are more popular and important than ever for people to escape from the harsh reality, we want to tell a story of the ultimate form of our collective. A form in space, where we can start with a clean slate and are not obligated to the set rules of planet earth.”
