Returning to his German roots, Robert Gellar’s spring 2017 menswear collection is inspired by the Neue Deutsche Welle, the German New Wave Movement that seized Berlin’s youth during the ‘80s. The collection showed predominantly neutral shades with the use of fuchsia, lime and orange as well as florals and subtle leopard prints. Fur pom-pom keychains and polaroids photographed by Gellar’s stylist, Yuji Takenaka, were pinned to lapels and the back of jackets. Youthful highlights of the collection included elongated trench coats, sleeveless biker jackets and leopard jumpsuits.
