The trend has been steadily growing over the last few seasons and shows no indication of slowing down. The wide leg trouser allows for a polished look when paired with a tailored blazer or a more dressed down look with a tucked in tee.
The recent menswear Spring 2017 shows presented an extensive selection of wide leg trousers on the runway. Many designers including Etro, Giorgio Armani and Maison Margiela featured loose trousers with cuffed bottoms. Other designers such as Diesel Black Gold and Salvatore Ferragamo chose to pair a flared bottom with sandals to create a more casual look. Junya Watanabe and MAN highlighted the use of a denim wide leg- a flashback to the ‘90s JNCO trend. There was no shortage of spring color – Fendi, Haider Ackermann and Prada featured trending spring shades of yellows, pinks and beiges in their loose fitting trousers.
