The evolution of Missoni continues as Italy’s family of fashion celebrates 65 years. Now with Angela Missoni at the helm, her focus is on an effortless wardrobe that includes slinky tank dresses with matching robes and pieces that are wearable as both pajamas and day or evening wear.
An endless variety of gossamer knit dresses were on full display for Spring 2019, along with elegant, longline cardigans, knitted denim, lean trousers, and kimono coats that can be mixed and matched in any number of ways. Floor-length dresses in azure blue, tangerine and moss green slid delicately across the skin
Missoni is a global brand with household name recognition – thanks in large part to their iconic ‘Fiammato’ zigzag designs created by Tai and Rosita Missoni in 1953 on their knitting machine. Angela Missoni’s latest collection is filled with gossamer textures and airy silhouettes created using handcrafted techniques.” The clothes are refined in their elegance and hint at the faintest glimpse of the body that can be seen through the wispy materials. The silky, ultra-light weight knits are breezy and sheer and everything looks incredibly soft. Even the pale blue, light wash denim trousers and jackets look soft enough to sleep in. A hint of sparkle from lurex yarns on many of the garments worn with luxuriously fluffy slides gave the relaxed silhouettes an element of glam.
