Models in laced-up tongueless boots marched adventurously into contemporary territory, with Dalmau’s staple of experimental patchwork and youthful ready-to-wear. Fabrics included leather, wool, metallic appliques, faux furs and more. Accents of ocher were prevalent on multiple pieces. Shades of green, red, brown and gray also dominated the color palette. Minis were high and tight and jackets were oversized, contrasting heavily in proportions. The men’s collection was equally as eclectic, featuring printed blazers, fringed cardigans, skinny herringbone suits and shiny silver metallic pants. In the wrong hands, this combination of quilted colors, patterns and fabrics could have collided into a chaotic mess. Thanks to Dalmau’s well-trained eye, however, this quirky collection achieved the right proportions of creativity and innovation.
