George Sotelo turned up the heat with his latest presentation for Thorsun Spring 2017. His contemporary men’s swimwear collection features an array of swim trunks for men and the introduction of women’s. Sotelo, also introduced shirts for spring, but kept the focus on the swimwear for now, while carefully moving forward into ready-to-wear. Thorsun swim trunks come in three different lengths, which makes them a great choice not only for the beach, boating, etc, but also an urban stroll in the city.

A frequent visitor to Rio de Janeiro, Sotelo needed shorts that could take him through the day in style, something that was tailored, but still sporty, versatile and practical. “In Rio,” he explains, “when you leave your house in the morning, you don’t bring a bag to the beach. You just carry your stuff on you — phone, keys, money — and you definitely don’t bring a towel, as it’s considered seriously uncool!” Not finding suitable swimwear, he decided to create his own. George Sotelo’s line of sporty swimwear is more like a modern swimsuit for active guys and girls.

Thorsun’s witty combination of exotic prints and modern cuts will make you stand out among the competition. The trunks come in a contemporary variety of geometric prints, and organic patterns, along with unique abstract designs that mimick broken pieces of pottery. The prints were inspired by Meso-American art and pottery from Mexico. The women’s offerings feature both one and two-piece styles in similar prints and a sporty boy short. “It’s my second year in business, and in the first year a lot of my girl friends started buying the shorts and getting them hemmed, so they were asking me to develop the prints into swimwear for women,” says Sotelo.
Thorsun’s chic prints and perfect fit will have you running to the beach in eye catching swimwear.
