Suave Athleisure and Metallic Suits

Tom Ford, the master of unmatched sophistication, set the bar high in his first exclusive men’s show at New York Fashion Week. He introduced a new range of sportswear in addition to a new line of watches and flesh-toned, nude underwear. The show contained no shortage of Ford’s signature sleek glamour.  This combination  mixed with sporty outerwear read ready-to-wear-anywhere. Of course, Tom Ford remains loyal to his slim silhouettes, but gives athleisure its most luxe update yet. His collection is as chic and refined as it is versatile, with interchangeable separates and pieces that play suitable for the city guy on the go who always arrives on time without a hair out of place. Flashy metallics on bold jacquard smoking jackets provide the perfect after hours jacket to complement a pared down turtleneck and trousers while a cozy hoodie and bomber jacket translate the same for a Saturday with the guys. In contrast to all the sparkle and shine, Ford infused a healthy dose of nudes and neutrals to offset the color palette.

Amongst a multitude of other prints was a recurrent snake print, featured on shirts, neckties, outerwear, and even finely tapered trousers. In a subtle allusion to this season’s pervasive western trend, Ford’s line includes pointed toe boots also constructed in neutral snake skin leathers. Other footwear came in the form of sharp classic loafers and cool tasseled slip-on sneakers for the ultimate casual chic ensemble that still reads ultra masculine.

Tom Ford continues to make a case for nudes in arguably the most exciting segment of the show near the finale when he debuted his brand-new underwear line. Available in 20 different colors and prints from sparkly champagnes and silvers to silky nudes and animal prints, the collection is no less sophisticated than the sportswear itself.
