Mara Hoffman Spring 2015: A Magic Trip

Mara Hoffman’s Spring 2015 collection had us dancing in the aisles long after the runway show ended. The collection was softer than previous seasons, but stayed true to her signature eclectic style. “I do fabrications. I do silhouettes. I do a whole lot more than just blasting you with neon prints” stated the designer backstage before her show.  This is exactly what she did. Her use of psychedelic color and rainbow fringe was reminiscent of the 70s, while the more relaxed resort leisure wear was synonymous with Mara’s mantra of “Be Light”.  A palm print in green and white resembling cannabis was inspired by the the desert, namely, Joshua Tree and was used on a casual jumpsuit accessorized with a matching baseball cap and an airy wide leg cut out pantsuit worn by Mara.  Hats were prevalent throughout the show as were swimsuits. Mara is known for her highly coveted swimsuit designs, and she didn’t stray too far from her striking patterns and prints by offering and array of suntastic suits for Spring 2015. There were a few pieces in soft pastel colors such as a blush pink maxi-dress worn with an underlying bandeau that was effortlessly elegant.  Mara Hoffman’s collection had no shortage of bohemian ensembles in vibrant colors and relaxed silhouettes to lighten up your mood come spring.
