Monochromatic ensembles have their day in the sun this season and are a welcome trend in menswear for spring summer 2015. The Ton-sur-ton effect provides an alternative to prints and can be used to powerful effect. The look doesn’t scream uniformity—rather it conveys a giddy and playful color story allowing you to subtly stand out. Menswear designers in Milan have interpreted this trend by appropriating classic hues of blue, grey, khaki, black and purple. Many presented many brightly-colored pieces that were worn in a homogenous color scheme. While others took the ton-sur-ton trend further with stark, all-white looks.

Suit separates look spot-on when layered over a darker hue as seen here at Fendi and Salvatore Ferragamo. Fendi provides the quintessential spring leisure suit using handsome shades of blue, In a similar vein, Ferragamo adds a crisp texture and a touch of sobriety through a khaki neutrals. To finish the look add a pop of color with a woven leather belt or contrasting loafer or sandal.
