New York Fashion Week brought out the most exciting Chinese fashion talent for Fall 2018. Peng Chen, a Chinese designer, who founded his namesake label in London in 2015, and has held previous positions at Christian Dior and Gareth Pugh showed his conceptual one-sized-fashion.  In Chen’s world, there are no large sizes and small sizes, only dramatic silhouettes. Peng’s exaggerated play of proportions and volume are a central idea in his work, and was the main theme in his outerwear of XXL puffer coats. The larger than life puffer coats came  in ginormous proportions in neon bright colors like hot pink, red, yellow and foam green.  Some of the most editorial pieces resembled teletubby’s in hooded puffer coats with ruffled headpieces that fit snuggly around the face. If social equality is an ideal state, then one-sized fashion may be the ultimate equalizer to balance the scales.
