The Top Men’s Fall 2017 Trends: Plaid, Checks and Tartans

A host of designers revisited tartans, checks, and plaid for fall 2017. Some came in classic British styles and others showcased more colorful versions multiplied in pattern upon pattern in a single look. There’s one thing for sure: plaid was everywhere and is set to become one of the top men’s trends for autumn/winter 2017. Plaid appeared in a variety of fresh iterations at the New York, Milan, and Paris menswear shows, and was seen on all the major catwalks from the top designers. The black and red buffalo checked pattern was seen on jackets, coats, shirts, trousers and parkas from labels like Givenchy, Versace, Balmain, and Gucci. Some took off in a playfully sending out plaids on men’s skirts and cropped trousers, while others followed a more street style approach with plaid puffer coats, flannel shirts and trousers.

Designers mixed and matched or showed head to toe looks, bringing an explosion of tartans and plaid to the catwalk. You can pick one up now or wait for the trend to trickle down. Whatever you do, just make sure you swipe it while you can. Here are a few of our faves up for grabs right now:
