Men’s Spring 2017 Trend: Don’t Make Me Blush – How to Wear Pink as a Neutral

The spring/summer collections are generally known for their color, but spring 2017 is shaping up to be all about pale shades of stonebeige, gray, offwhites, and olive green. However, the biggest surprise is the palest shade of pink that has  infiltrated the top men’s runway shows spring 2017.  In Milan, Bottega Veneta featured a tracksuit in the coolest shade of dusty pink. While, Ermenegildo Zegna and Canali offered up pale blush pink tinted suits that could easily be rotated into a summer wardrobe.  Rosy shades even popped up at the top men’s shows in Paris, with the rose-tinted hue emerging as the new neutral.  Chitose Abe of Sacai stuck with a neutral mauve  blush color. In New York, John Elliott paired a satin blush bomber paired with subtle off white layers over white denim, and also featured a pink salmon leather moto jacket over a pair of neutral beige sneakers and shorts.  Ovadia and Sons sent out a pair of trousers in the palest shade of pink with a velvet black bomber  jacket and black leather sneakers.  Robert Geller added a punch of color to his spring 2017 show in the form of hot pink basketball shorts.  The color looks best with black accessories or a pair of black shoes to create a contrast that looks modern, or pair with stone, beige or anything offwhite. Tiger of Sweden mixed blush satin quilted vests with black accents, and at cult favorite Visvim a blush colored print shirt was paired with black jeans. One things for sure, pink looks good on everyone and is set to become the “new neutral” for spring.  Just experiment, the possibilities are endless.
