Dolce & Gabanna Fall 2007 Sex-on-Legs Collection

At Dolce and Gabbana’s Fall 2007 show the star powered model lineup lit up the mirrored catwalk in what is sure to be the flashiest show of the season. The design duo transformed the Metropol theater into a dominatrix’ dream, complete with a tableau of models in S&M poses holding glistening silver spanking crops and oozing smoldering sex appeal and in-your-face glamour. A bevy of latex-like dresses, metal eye masks, see through lace, and metallic bustiers made up the porn-chic collection thought to be inspired by Madonna and her Sex book in the 90s. In keeping with that theme, the models took to the catwalk to the sounds of Madonna panting from her release “Erotica” mixed with a larger-than-life Donna Summers. Their uber kinky surplus of crystal-mesh gowns gave way to a clear view of underwear and even a glinting metal chastity belt. Crystal column gowns paired with pointy, mirrored stilettos proved especially dangerous to Gisele and some of other high wattage models who found themselves tangled and tripped up at various times. Metallic ruched dresses were gripped at the waist by unforgiving metal corsets and joined on the runway by spray-on gold tops with a jewels covering each nipple. Transparent chiffon pussybow blouses continued the see-through parade along with the most coveted piece of the season to wear over everything, a puffy, black satin anorak, Dolce and Gabbana style with a bubbled hem. The show closed with a stellar all out finale featuring some of the biggest models of all time, Gisele, Lily Donaldson, Caroline Trentini, Sasha Pivovarova, Natasha Poly, Carmen Kass, Raquel Zimmermann, Anja Rubik, Lara Stone, and Coco Rocha taking a second run on the perilous runway. When controversial images of the fall 2007 campaign rustled some feathers, Gabbana publicly announced to WWD, “Since these images have offended someone, we want to stress that we wanted to represent a strong, dominatrix woman, as in today’s woman.”
