Rhohei Kawanishi Takes it Back to the 90s for Landlord F17
Landlord, an up-and-coming label from Japanese designer Ryohei Kawanishi, and a fave of hip-hop artists, rocked a Southern hip-hop vibe for Fall 2017. Kawanishi says. “I wanted to reference the labels and artists that reflected the ’90s and ’00s generations of hip-hop. I live in Harlem and it’s something I see a lot.” Kawanishi referenced some of his favorite hip hop performers from Big Tymers, to Cam’ron and Snoop Dog, as well as The Hot Boys who were wearing labels like Dickies, Tommy Hilfiger and Polo Ralph Lauren. He also admits to being inspired by NBA basketball player, Dennis Rodman who regularly donned womenswear and crazy colored hair on the court.
