Fall 2016 Men’s Trend: Seeing Red

Seeing Red Everywhere This Fall

The color red gives a much needed boost to an otherwise neutral, monochromatic fall/winter season  Intense shades of red ranging from oxblood, to maraschino cherry red stood out on almost every major runway on both sides of the Atlantic.  This makes red a must-have color to add mileage to your wardrobe. To add to the intensity of the hue, a number of designers from Siki Im , Costume National, Dior Homme, and Kenzo showed head to toe monochromatic silhouettes with varying shades and textures to add depth and break up single color.

European designers such as Kenzo, Paul Smith, and Gucci paired red with different shades of pink to create a subtle sophisticated play on the color red. Dark reddish brown was layered with brighter shades of red to form a rich contrast between inner and outer layers. Red undoubtedly provides warmth and vibrancy to a fall wardrobe of dark neutrals, navy, gray, and black.  The bright color guarantees you’ll stand out in a crowd and is a sure sign of confidence.   Saint Laurent, Burberry, Bottega Veneta, Dior Homme, Sacai, Kenzo
