Billy Reid Spring 2015 Men’s Runway Trailer

Billy Reid like to keep things real with live  music and Bloody Mary’s kicking off his spring menswear show.

When it comes to fabrics and the tailoring. The clothes are relaxed and effortless with softened shoulders, loose trousers and flowing, airy layers. The kind of well made sportswear a guy can appreciate on a hot summer day.  Artisanal fabrics like silk and linen tweed were rendered in light weight jackets; with distressed No. 10 duck cloth, cotton jacquard and embroidered Japanese textiles made into loose fitting shorts.

“It comes from our customers,” Reid said backstage before the show of drapey, skirt-like layers. “We work on the men’s and women’s together, both on design and textile development, then ultimately it sits in our stores together. And those customers shop together. And they cross-shop. We have guys buying our women’s pieces; we have girls buying the men’s. And they’re wearing them like this. There’s something about it that looks super interesting.”
