Fall 2013 Ultra Fitted Trousers

Come Fall we swear you’ll want a pair of ultra fitted trousers in your closet! The new super tailored tight fitting trouser seen in every designers collection are nothing like the skinny stretch jeans usually offered in denim.  Varying weights of wool, silk and neoprene transition the ultra slim fit trouser from casual to dressed-up instilling a whole new grown-up vibe.

Kenneth Cole’s ultra-fitted black oiled trousers are paired with a trim wool jacket with contrasting leather sleeves over a gray tone on tone color-blocked sweater for a polished downtown look. While across the pond, London label Hackett mixed things up a bit sending out posh colorful blue pinstriped trousers with a tuxedo jacket and a shawl collar fur trimmed coat.  John Varvatos must’ve had Sting in mind when he created his Englishman in New York collection.  A silk foulard tied around the neck with an ombre graded jacket that bled from gray to blue over a cable-knit black sweater and skin tight, gray, cuffed trousers mixed both elements of English dandyism with New York cool. Gucci’s white stovepipe trouser worn with a sky blue double breasted car coat is ideal for the contemporary man with a romantic soul. Not one to shy away from color, Paul Smith is bringing back hot house color and sixties silhouettes with his mustard yellow fitted trousers and deep burgundy pullover sweater worn with a checked lavender shirt and skinny brown tie topped by a coral bomber jacket.  A delightful alternative to the suit. French duo Viktor & Rolf journeyed to the center of the earth to bring back slim, ultra modern, futuristic suits, as in skinny navy blue trousers and a jacket with metallic piping paired with a striped shirt and lurex tie.

Whether you are ready to jump into the skinny pool or just dip your toes, a new alternative is at your disposal. Go for urban casual like Kenneth Cole, or the romantic dandy offerings from Gucci to super modern and brightly colored at Paul Smith.
