Top Menswear Trends for Fall 2013 – Mod Vs Rockers

By Edwardo Flores for Global Fashion News

After back to back fashion shows in New York, London, Milan and Paris where designers presented their latest fall offerings, we offer a jump on the season and how to wear it. Here is our list of the the top menswear trends to master come fall/winter 2013.

MOD VS ROCKERS

The Mod look from the 1960s has never been more in fashion than it is today as designers from London to Paris revived the youthful dandy. Think sophisticated slim-fitting tailored suits with narrow lapels, worn with fitted shirts and skinny ties or cashmere sweaters. The tidy look is accompanied by pointed-toe oxfords, and the iconic Chelsea or Beetle boot. Thom Browne deigned the mod suit his favorite this season and made it even more intriguing by experimenting with the silhouette. A quilted black wool fabric served as the canvas for his shrunken jacket with gray piping worn with loose-fitting cropped trousers and a white shirt and bow tie. Kim Jones at Louis Vuitton went monochromatic from head-to-toe with his charcoal gray double breasted suit paired with windowpane checked gray and blue trousers worn with black pony-skin lace-up boots. At Hermès  a subtle ski-wear vibe was evident in many of the pieces with some bright unexpected shades such as raspberry pink, marigold yellow and a brick hue. Véronique Nichanian sent out a double-breasted jacket with wide satin lapels and matching skinny trousers worn with a lightweight olive-green turtleneck.
