The Ultimate Matte Lips
Why do we love the new matte lipsticks? They’re smooth, they’re creamy, they glide on like lip balm and are oh so soft to touch and best of all, last for hours. The new formulas feel velvety and go on more evenly than regular matte lipsticks we’ve seen in recent years which looked very matte, but were extremely dry in texture or drying to the lips. The newest round of matte lipsticks will keep you looking polished all day. Here is our pick of some of the best matte lipstick looks from the Spring 2015 shows in New York and Milan created by our favorite make-up artists.
There are some great shades from Charlotte Tilbury, Nars and Mac Cosmetics. The striking pouts by maquillage master Pat McGrath at Dolce & Gabbana turned out to be an advanced sighting of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty’s first-ever matte lipstick which debuted in the U.S in April and are much longer-lasting than other lipsticks. Saturated velvety lips also turned up at Burberry, Carolina Herrera, Honor, Manish Arora, MSGM, Missoni, Marc Jacobs, Nanette Lepore, Nicole Miller, Carmen Marc Valvo and Monique L’Huillier.
