Fall 2013: Strictly Taboo – The New Plunging Neckline

From New York to Milan designers cut jackets and dresses down to there, highlighting plunging necklines and creating an impossibly chic silhouette that no longer feels taboo. Blumarine does tuxedo dressing one better with an ultra-feminine black tuxedo jacket tucked into a petite jeweled satin skirt. Bottega Veneta’s structured coat dress with short sleeves is worn over black trousers and simply tied at the waist with a velvet ribbon conveying a smart professional attitude. Etro ups the ante sending out a sexy banded halter dress with a paisley and geometric kaleidoscope pattern accented by black satin banding along the plunging neckline, waist and hips.
A perfect dress for a night out in the town is Giorgio Armani’s gorgeous navy blue satin cocktail dress with a deep-v cut all the way down to the waist with a pleated fan detail on one shoulder. Marni’s charming branch patterned black and white sleeveless top is paired with a matching A-line skirt. Prada’s scarlet woman wears nothing but a beaded slip and black peek-a-boo underwear visible underneath a brown mink jacket. Versace’s black vinyl beaded dress with patent leather collar and straps highlight a plunging deep-v neckline and reference Versace’s new found punk inspiration.
