Salvatore Ferragamo Spring 2018: A Mashup of French Riviera and Italian Modernism

Guillaume Meilland, creative director of Salvatore Ferragamo instantly transported us from winter’s frigid temps to a lazy, laid back, breezy east coast afternoon on the beach with his latest Spring 2018 menswear collection. This season, Ferragamo makes a strong case for well-cut shorts shown in pleasing stripes and summer cords styled with lightweight blazers. These polished pieces pair well with relaxed separates to create a refined, beachy, Italian seaside look.

The Life Aquatic with Salvatore Ferragamo

Meilland’s modern take on the new shorter hemlines for men is a mash-up of French Riviera style and Italian modernism, balancing cool elegance and masculinity. The spring collection included mustard yellow jackets, velvet Bermuda shorts, and lightweight blousons, shirts, and overcoats that are as light as a summer breeze.
