The Top 2017 Men’s Trends: Jumpsuits, Rompers and Overalls

Jumpsuits Are a Top Men’s Trend, Just Don’t Call it a Manzie

Jumpers, rompers, overalls, onesies… call them what you want, but the fashion world won’t stop obsessing about them. To say that the traditional work wear jumpsuit has become a sartorial staple in men’s fashion  would be an exaggeration. However, if the recent men’s runway shows are any indication, then you are going to see a lot more of them come fall.

As recently as this past summer, the jumpsuit also known as the romper entered cutting edge designer status, and has now has become a part of the lexicon.  Sure it’s a small subset of men, but it managed to dominate the conversation all summer.  This fall it’s a shared inspiration across both sides of the Atlantic and prominent enough to be dubbed a trend. The one piece jumpsuit was seen amongst the top men’s shows in New York, Milan and Paris with the potential to be carried into next year.

Several designers referenced mechanic-like overalls, showcasing them in wool, chambray, corduroy and and even acid washed denim among other fabrications. To test drive a pair, best to keep it simple and monochromatic. Or wear with a cool pair of trainers to maximize the overall effect of a monochromatic ensemble, while keeping all other clothing in the same tones. Here are a few of our faves below.
