Ermenegildo Zegna Fall 2018: Modernized Menswear

The designer Alessandro Sartori has clearly conquered the future of menswear at Ermenegildo Zegna by reinventing traditional menswear silhouettes with cleaner and simpler modernized concepts. His Fall 2018 collection is beyond perfect and delivers a strong sophisticated point of view that men are sure to find appealing. Case in point; the new outerwear illustrates a major reinvention of refined tailored coats, buttery leather bombers, fur jackets and sporty, boxy anoraks. All of it with a slight athletic approach, and details that included geometric necklines on sweaters and jackets, slit pockets on coats and pants tucked into high-top boot-sneakers.

Inspired by the Alpine foothills that surround Zegna’s headquarters, fake snow covered the runway and was kicked up in the air by each model as they traipsed through the snow. The impeccable tailoring was enhanced this season with thoughtful embellishments like the label’s logo reworked in various ways on a series of jackets and sweaters. In one look, a metallic embroidered gold leaf illustration dominated the back of a long, blue tailored coat. Sartori also experimented with a new fabric, the Oasi, a cashmere texture dipped in organic dyes, in rust, taupe, violet and deep blue hues.
