Billy Reid likes to keep things real, especially when it comes to the fabrics and the old school tailoring techniques he employs. In his latest collection his clothes appear super relaxed and effortless with slightly softened shoulders worn over loose trousers and airy mid layers. Flowing cotton and linen shirts hung below the hips, or were worn layered under shearlings, a floral jacquard bomber jacket or velvet  blazers.

“It comes from our customers,” Reid said backstage before the show of the drapey, skirt-like layers. “We work on the men’s and women’s together, both on design and textile development, then ultimately it sits in our stores together. And those customers shop together. And they cross-shop. We have guys buying our women’s pieces; we have girls buying the men’s. And they’re wearing them like this. There’s something about it that looks super interesting.”

While some of the looks had a rugged charm, every garment is cut in such a way that elevates it into the luxury category.  Many had stylishly finished details that can only be fully appreciated when looking at the garments up-close.

Theses are the kind of well made tailored staples a guy can really appreciate on a cold winter day.  In other words, the most perfect fall wardrobe a man could wish for.
