Zac Posen Fall 2012 Collection
Dramatic colors, patterns and shapes ruled the runway in Zac Posen’s Fall 2012 RTW show in New York. The designer took his audience on an enchanting ride to the Far East, showcasing evening suit-dresses, coats with kimono belts (aka obi belts) and gowns in dramatic rouge, jewel tones of emeralds and sapphires. Neutral colors were also prevalent throughout the collection. The IT dress of Posen silhouettes, peplum-waisted tops, sharp tailoring, and super slim waist lines made their appearances, and Posen pleased the crowd with an exquisitely fabricated mermaid skirted gowns. The Asian-inspired collection featured bamboo prints and exotic floral fabrics, as well as a few appropriate evening over coats. Accessories, from the crystal encrusted Chinese dragon clutch to the beautiful two-toned blue crystal bracelet and colorful floral necklace pointed to Posen’s attention to detail and flare for the dramatic.
