Dior Homme Spring 2015 Mens Runway Show

Seaside with a relaxed elegant mood was the vibe at the Dior Homme Spring 2015 show in Paris at the Tennis Club de Paris. Creative Director Kris van Assche opened the show with three tuxedo’s in blue mohair featuring unusual toggle closures and the new one button double breasted jacket. This was followed by French Breton fisherman striped tank tops worn like vests under suits or paired with jeans.

A scrawled print resembling a “letter in a bottle” motif turned out to be the handwriting of none other than Monsieur Dior. Van Assche was thrilled to find the letter in the Dior archives, penned by Christian himself and reproduced the writing as a scribble print on ties, suiting, shirts as well as jeans. A reproduction of the handwritten letter read: “Traditions have to be maintained so they can be passed on to future generations. In troubled times like ours, we must maintain these traditions which are our luxury and the flower of our civilization.

The whimsical handwriting even made it onto the Dior leather accessories and shrunken bomber jackets. The accessories were equally as enthralling. A standout look is the artistic crayola box scribble print shirt paired with high tech Dior composite 1.0 sunglasses in silver.
