Tommy Hilfiger is Back with Heritage Edition Wardrobe Essentials

For spring 2017, the Tommy Hilfiger Edition team was tasked with updating classic pieces from the archives for a new generation. In a major revamp and retooling of the brand, the Tommy Hilfiger team revisited signature pieces and reinterpreted many of the biggest trends of the season, dark graphic florals, track suits, relaxed suiting, plus a resurgence of the 90s athletic trend.

The collection resulted in a purposeful lineup of new essentials that acknowledges how men dress today. Pajama bottoms were mixed with a striped oxford shirt and navy blazer to offer a fresh take on relaxed dressing. Tropical floral printed bomber jackets and pajama bottoms were mixed with striped shirts and graphic printed tees. The footwear of choice was a playful shower sandal with a rope-lined footbed that could easily blend poolside or at a casual summer event.

Oversized silhouettes were also prominent in the collection, as seen in many of the trousers, chinos and shirts in the collection. A bandana print anorak and shorts rang true to the brand’s classic Americana themed sportswear. While 70s inspired knit sweaters alluded to brands preppy classics. Hilfiger explains, “By infusing our heritage with pop culture inspirations and a fresh point of view, we have created the building blocks for the essential menswear wardrobe.” True to his word, each piece is an indispensable item for the modern man’s wardrobe.
