The Wait is Over – Raf Simons for Christian Dior
Dior announced today that Raf Simons will take over immediately as artistic director, replacing John Galliano, who was fired from Dior last year
His first collection is planned for July at the fall Haute Couture shows.
Simons, who previously worked for fashion house Jil Sander until recently is known for his understated looks.
At his studio in Antwerp, where he designs his own menswear line since the mid ’90s, he often answers the phone himself.
Simons is not one to court the media but is highly influential. His minimalist design aesthetic and use of vibrant colors has had a huge impact on fashion.
