Bottega Veneta Spring 2014 – Swoon Worthy Men’s Fashion

Bottega Veneta’s Spring 2014

Bottega Veneta’s ultra-cool Vegas Rat Pack menswear collection summoned a late 1950s and early 1960s Dean Martin, Frank Sinatra vibe. Creative director Tomas Maier explored the country club set and the backyard barbecue with a series of streamlined pullovers and windbreakers in color-blocked and diamond-patterned crewnecks.

His collection featured casual suiting sets in twills, suedes, and garbardines in a monochromatic palette with touches of deep autumn colors including violet, forest green, midnight blue and burnt red. Some of the more casual looks emphasized Maier’s creative process with white hand drawn lines along the collars that resembled a tailor’s chalk marks.

Golf jackets and bombers, a focal point of the show, were made from suede, glossy calfskin and cotton. The models carried Madras leather bags and wore leather moccasins in the signature Bottega Veneta basket weave leather intrecciato.
