Stampd Fall 2017: An Emerging LA Menswear Brand

LA designer Chris Stamp, injected fresh new energy into his Fall 2017 collection with graffiti style lettering and an all new logo in a pop color collection titled “Asphalt Wave.”  The title takes it’s name from many of the major cities of today, particularly the west coast. Shades of rust, hunter green, canary, charcoal, camel, and icy blue can be seen in the collection as well as Stamp’s signature casual aesthetic of everyday staples rendered in black and white. The lineup includes the brand’s trademark military style bombers and parkas, but also features a nice range of distressed denim this season.

For fall, the designer amped up gray sweats with script graphics in mustard yellow, rust, and sky blue in a style evocative of the street graffiti that decorates most cities. Graffiti scrawlings dirtied up hoodies, sweatpants and denim, while tattered effects were applied to everything from knitwear, to light-washed jeans. Stamp also incorporated graphic t-shirts in gothic lettering with sayings like “Mind your own business” and “Stay in your lane.”  There were fleece logo hoodies and buffalo plaid shirts, and a jacket in red and black  checks that lent a “cholo” LA vibe to the collection.  Many of the coats in the collection featured torn hems as though a few inches had been torn off.  Stampd’s coveted footwear this season was in collaboration with PUMA, and will drop in stores soon.  Stay tuned.
