Last season’s inspiration was the ocean and sky. Rad Hourani brings us Mother Nature to Fall/Winter 2012, “I spent a lot of time recently in the forest and in nature, so the collection is based on that,” said Hourani. His silhouettes of folding origami cropped up with geometric insets opens your eyes on how gender has no boundaries. The Genderfuck style (refers to the conscious effort to mock off traditional notions of gender identity, gender roles, and gender presentation) promotes with the wool hooded jackets, exaggerated lapels, leather skirts and pants given in this collection. This makes me wonder how one could one imagine, yet alone, construct such exquisite work. There were two shades used to resemble the forest; a soft khaki and a hunter green, over a background of black. Rad explained that all his pieces are reversible in the show and all have utility in mind. The boxy backpacks can easily become handbags and belt accessory importantly styled give any of his jackets a waist line.
