Overalls Are A Top Men’s Trends for Spring Just Don’t Call It A Onesie
Jumpers, rompers, overalls, onesies… call them what you want, but the fashion world won’t stop obsessing about them. To say that the traditional work wear staple has become a sartorial look in men’s fashion would be something of an exaggeration. However, if the Spring 2017 Men’s runway shows are any indication then you are going to see a lot more of them come spring. As recent as last year, the onesie, otherwise known as the mansie has entered the designer realm and has become a budding trend since spring 2016. Sure it’s a far smaller subset than the polished tailoring and casual weekend looks that dominate the current men’s trends. However this season, it’s a shared inspiration across both sides of the Atlantic and prominent enough to be dubbed a men’s trend. The one piece was seen amongst the top men’s shows in Milan and Paris with potential to be carried into Fall 2017.
At the recent Menswear Spring/Summer 2017 collections many designers referenced mechanic-like overalls, showcasing them in chambray, pastels and and acid washed denim among other fabrications. To test drive a pair keep it simple and monochromatic. Or add a cool pair of trainers to maximize the overall effect of a black ensemble by keeping all other clothing in the same dark tones. See a few of our faves below to determine which designers did it best.
