Joseph Abboud’s Fall 2017 collection was built upon the American Gothic spirit and dark romance of American poet, Edgar Allen Poe. The hauntingly beautiful collection also marks the 30th Anniversary celebration of Joseph Abboud. In keeping with the theme, a moody palette of  black, charcoal gray, aubergine, madder green, and stained glass blue, evolved from darkness to light into angelic ivory.  “I was deeply inspired by the striking architecture of Gothic cathedrals, which are reflected in the construction of the clothing—lapels are exaggerated, coats are sweeping, cape-like, and often lined with fur, and our signature traced fit is slightly relaxed to allow for ease of movement” says Abboud. A sense of grandeur carries over into the fabrics, with rich jacquards, opulent brocades, knit herringbone, quilted leather, and water-stained velvet in deep purple and inky blue pulled from the palette of “Dark Romanticism.”
