Jonathan Saunders Fall 2012 Sloan Rangers
Jonathan Saunders had in mind “a wealthy, eccentric and dressed woman,” for his fall 2012 womenswear collection. Saunders pushed for a stricter silhouette than in previous seasons, menswear inspired silhouettes and razor-sharp tailoring channeled the collection, he feminized it by fabrications of silk and embossed geometric patters, leaner trousers, wild bright colors. Transitional collection with Autumn colour of deep brown, emerald green, light grey, and intense orange and red. Saunders remarkable prints stole the show, evoking geometry with obtuse triangles (but still cute), such as the diamond motif on the perfectly tailored skinny satin pant and blazer. There were water lily prints that bloomed across the tailored bodice shirt with softly gathered skirt at the natural waistline and pleated silk dresses on check patterns with black chiffon sleeves. Jonathan Saunders stayed true to his design aesthetic, but this time he presented a forceful and sharp collection that left us longing for more of his exciting creations.
