J.W. Anderson Spring 2016 Boyish Secret Society

J.W. Anderson is considered by many to be a pioneer of the androgynous aesthetic that is leading the way in men’s and women’s fashion.

For spring, Anderson took a step back and retreated into his own world showcasing a playful line of separates that appear inspired by childhood adventures. His stated goal was to create a line that was “something a little more childlike, a little more naive, to cleanse the palate.”

Anderson’s deft touch prints referenced Russian constructivist art and classic album covers.
Several of Anderson’s pieces sported jangling keys and everyday objects a-fixed to the sweaters like pins (much like an imaginary, boyish secret society.) His signature gender-bending silhouettes featured exposed midriffs and shoulders set off by boxy cuts which cut away from the body.
