Hot Lips – François Nars

With lips this bold, it’s best to keep the eye neutral. Absolutely no blush or mascara. The look at Marc Jacobs created by Francois Nars featured very matte, creamy skin. All day Weightless Luminous Foundation was used and finished with Soft Velvet Loose Powder. The lips are smoldering and dark, and the eyes are silvery and beautiful. Nars used very dark eggplant lips, very matte, no gloss (NARS Train Bleu Velvet Matte Lip Pencil, NARS Black Moon Eyeliner Pencil for darker-toned girls). It’s a very matte face, no shine, with very structured eyebrows, not too fake. Except for the girls with very thick brows — it’s not too thin of a shape, but a defined line. A great taupe-y color that almost looks kind of silver goes on the eyes called Bali, with the gloss. You can’t tell if it’s a gray-taupe-y, pale silvery with gloss over it. François Nars (Nars): “I always try to build a strong look. One of the first things I heard from Marc’s mouth was this idea of a sophisticated woman, with of course Diana Vreeland as a base and the book Swans — We’re using this beige-taupey color, which becomes kind of silver almost because we’re applying a lot of gloss over the eyelid. Because the lips are so important and intense, it’s important to balance and make it more modern and more edgy.
