The Top Men’s Trends Fall 2017: Tighten Up Your Look

Tighten Up Your Look with a 3D Studded Belt

Studly three dimensional belts have emerged as the hot new accessory this season. Whether it’s smooth, braided, studded or patterned, the right belt can help you tie it all together for an instant style upgrade. Accessories, especially belts, are a quick and easy way to update your look by adding a pop of color, or stay in step with the season’s monochromatic head-to-toe looks. If you’re looking for a game changer the right belt speaks volumes. We scoured the top men’s shows to bring you a few of our favorites, including high fashion 3D belts, casual styles and coveted status belts to help you pull off any look in style.

High fashion, 3D statement belts were everywhere at the men’s shows and ranged from skinny, colorful styles to wide, studded and grommeted belts with decorative buckles. At Yohji Yamamoto, a salmon colored crocodile belt with a gold buckle was styled over loose fitting trousers while Haider Ackermann’s graphic zebra printed belts were paired with an 80’s yellow and black ensemble.

Maison Margiela’s sublimely deconstructed menswear featured ultra simple rope belts casually tied over wide-legged trousers. At Emporio Armani, handsome braided leather belts complimented the softly pleated trousers. Hermes featured a skinny nylon belt fastened over a work wear inspired romper in a relaxed, casual look worn with mandals. John Elliott’s stretchy fabric belts with square buckles cinched his resort wear and geometric patterned terrycloth wraps. Ovadia & Sons featured the ultimate in old-school skater style with white shoelaces tied casually in several looks.

Salvatore Ferragamo’s leisure suits were accessorized with double-wrapped, grommeted belts.

DSquared2 designers Dean and Dan Caten infused a punk-rock vibe with skinny, black leather belts over distressed denim. Xander Zhou showcased an eccentric range of PVC, leather and Lurex among camouflage prints with deconstructed studded belts that hung in multiples from the waist. A series of supremely casual belts have also been introduced for spring, many without traditional belt buckles in roped, braided and nylon styles. Fendi’s chic summer pool party resort wear was shown with a skinny, striped belt used to cinch everything from terrycloth rompers and above-the-knee shorts.

Coveted Status Belts

An elegant leather belt from a world known brand such as Ferragamo, Louis Vuitton or Hermes is an accessory that will never go out of style. These coveted status belts are the ultimate accessory to invest in, as seen on many of today’s street style superstars. Belts can dress up any look and add a heightened sense of style to create that perfect mix of high-low cool no matter what you’re wearing. Dolce & Gabbana featured exotic, animal print belts with shiny, gold D&G buckles that complemented their evening-centric menswear offerings. Kim Jones safari themed spring collection for Louis Vuitton offered leather belts stamped with LV’s signature logo. Burberry, Dries Van Noten, Hermes and Jil Sander also offer equally polished versions in simple, elegant styles that come in a myriad of colors.
