Fashion Obsession: High Slit Skirts – Milan Fall 2014

High slit and double slit skirts are the perfect transitional piece from summer to fall and are so versatile that they go with just about anything. Pair it with a loose fit blouse and add layers for the cooler months ahead. John Richmond’s asymmetrical diagonal slits are cut all the way up to the waist.

Just Cavalli featured strong diagonal lines in a brushstroke motif that gave way to abstraction. The collection was influenced by the artistic treasures of Florence in a mash-up of electric prints and an abundance of grommets, no doubt influenced by his designing gig for Miley Cyrus.

Missoni also incorporated slits into easy to wear casual wrap skirts. Angela Missoni, using the brand’s iconic zigzag motif added a front slit to offset the heavy wool texture of a knee length wrap skirt.

Designer Fiona Cibani kept it casual at Ports 1961 drawing inspiration from military references, which is prominent in this look.
