Plaid Suits Make a Statement for Fall 2016
Plaid and check patterns are a fall staple, and were especially abundant on the Fall 2016 runways. This season designers upped the ante with the resurgence of the plaid, power suit in and array of bold stand out colors. Revamp your wardrobe with fresh takes on classic plaid and check patterns, or go bold with a monochrome patterned suit in Glenplaid, buffalo checks, or windowpane plaid.
The classic patterns appeared at every major menswear show including the New York, Milan, Paris, and London collections. Designers at Etro and Antonio Marras focused on supremely elegant shades of gray, navy, and rust. While Gucci and Brioni went for statement suits in red and white. Valentino’s three piece came in a strong optic black and white windowpane plaid.
Alessandro Michele’s casual red and blush pink windowpane suit at Gucci added to the overall 70s vibe of the show. And Ferragamo’s classic black and white Glen plaid suit ushered in sophisticated layering separates.
