Cafe society was was central to Coco Chanel’s life, where anyone who was somebody including, artists, actors, writers and intellects alike mingled regularly in the city of light. With this in mind Karl Lagerfeld transformed the Grand Palais into Brasserie Gabrielle, the chicest of the grand Parisian cafes, complete with the traditional mosaic tiled flooring to stage his latest fall 2015 collection for Chanel. The clever set featured models entering through revolving glass doors and making their way to their seats around white tablecloth banquettes, while waiters wearing bow ties served coffee from behind a wood paneled counter stacked with baskets of pastries, boiled eggs and toast. This buzzy scene was the perfect setting to showcase Chanel’s key demographic, the doyenne and the women who lunch, as well as their gamine counterparts.  For Fall 2015 makeup artist Tom Pecheux created two different eye looks for the runway: a sultry smoky eye and a super bold cat eye.
