Carlos Campos Fall 2017: Seasonless Menswear

“This is a mix of winter and summer together,” said Carlos Campos backstage.

Carlos Campos Seasonless Menswear Collection Mixes Winter and Summer Together

Carlos Campos’ melded together an urban wardrobe with echos of his South American heritage conjuring up an intriguing mix of colorful menswear pieces in summer tones for his Fall/Winter 2017 menswear collection. He opened the show with a color blocked, paneled jacket with almost every color of the collection and matching mustard yellow trousers worn by model of the moment Diego Villareal.

The sunset inspired color palette included pastel blue and pink along with on-trend fall colors like mustard yellow, navy, black, and grey. The soft pink and blue stood out from among the more neutral tones of traditional fall colors like mustard yellow, camel, navy, black, and grey. Other outerwear in the collection included long varsity jackets and wrapped kimono style jackets along with asymmetrical military coats. Among the best were the long flowing duster coats and a safari jacket.

Each look was styled with cropped, flared trousers rife with utilitarian details such as large cargo pockets. These came in gray wool, mustard yellow, and a golden rust silk, or in contrasting stripes of pastel pink and grey. Campos focused on easy layering by mixing essential jackets with crisp shirts. He sent out an array of flowy lab coats in navy and gray that brought the collection back to chic territory. Among the many standouts was a mustard yellow jumpsuit in felted wool that was belted and cuffed, over black combat boots. The designer kept the footwear simple and stuck to black leather combat boots and lace up shoes to highlight the colors.
