August Getty Spring 2015: Head Turning Glam Dresses

August Getty-August Getty’s debut collection was one created for the girl who loves to have a good time! A girl jaded by nothing and will show her confidence through her style choices. One of August’s earlier memories was his mother opening boxes full of couture clothing and unquestionably, we saw this translated in Spring 2015. The young designer’s construction of asymmetrical design was portrayed through sculpted mini dresses and unexpected cutouts. An unusually laser cut metallic leather in a Baliesque pattern was overlaid onto a nude tulle background on a series of pieces including a short mini dress, T-Shirt and a long slinky column evening dress.  The latter part of the collection ventured into softer somewhat ethereal, dreamy goddess dresses in bursts of lavender and pink using intricately draped chiffon and silk. The construction of the pieces were a traditional silhouette with a conventional edge.  Our personal favorite was an exaggerated party bubble dress with custom made lace and a jagged hemline of peek-a-boo chiffon.  August Getty’s debut collection has us excited for what the following seasons may bring!
